That is a very poor quality rep. I know its been a bad first time experience, but at least you have now found Repgeek so it will never happen to you again.

Personally I would buy a caseback opener and some tools, both of which are inexpensive and investigate the problem yourself, then invest in a decent rep from one of our trusted sellers.

We were both thinking the same thing

Welcome to RG, I'm sorry to hear this has happened to you saholz, but like the others have said you aren't the first and sadly most certainly won't be the last. These scammers spend alot of time working on their sales pitch... "5 year warranty, 27jewel is the best" etc to lure many of us hard working folk in. And if I'm honest I too was very nearly lured in by BlueFakes a couple years back but luckily found RepGeek just in time...

The best thing you can do (like I did) is spend most evenings for the next couple weeks reading all the stickied posts here regarding Dealers, Movements, Metals used in Reps, whats available, and of course the daily posts of "whats hot and whats not" to understand what the real "low down" is with the Rep Rolex's. It's alot to read but really worth it if you want to get clued up, I spend more time reading and learning than posting personally. And this is a very helpful community so ask away we'll always point you in the right direction

    R'Oli

P.S I'll send you over some Geekbux to cheer you up in the Casino, once this Database error I keep getting is fixed.

Hey this crap happens to many people on their first rep purchase who didn't find the good forums. Several years ago I spent close to two hundred dollars on what was advertised as a very sold Rolex sub replica. The movement has always worked well but everything else was utter crap. The cyclops was wrong, mineral crystal, etc, etc. One night the thing just fell right off my wrist and got all scratched up. The band turned green too, this was all after wearing a hand full of times. The point is your not alone, it happens. Plenty of people here have had similar experiences.

My first rep many years ago was a "Daytona" that I paid $150 for and when it arrived it was just a fully sterile POS with a microscopic quartz movement, crappy SS plating and a band that was fubar'd.
Fortunately, UPS lost it when I shipped it to a relative a few states away & they paid the insurance on it...

I got lucky. Maybe you can too (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).
