Default Advice on a few Reps - I am a newbie

Guys, I am a newbie and would like your advice on a few reps. I am talking about reps from the dealers we all are used to and that are part of the dealer section of this community.

I would like your advice on 2 fronts: movement and how good of a rep is it (comparing to the gens).

    The watches are:

1- IWC Portuguese (heard the movement is problematic)
    2- Rolex Explorer 1
    3- IWC GST SS
    4- IWC Aquatimer Chrono
    5- Rolex BKmariner

Really appreciate your comments and advice.

    Regards,

    RPM

    RPM,

    Welcome to Repgeek!

BK is an artist, simply put. He puts the kind of attention to his work that betrays his love of watches.
You simply cannot go wrong with a piece from him.

I love the IWC port, but I will wait till the movement problems are solved.

I agree with DCG, the Aquatimer is a fantastic rep, and will be my next purchase from Josh at Perfect Clones.

    Best wishes!

    The BKMariner rocks...

There have been many more reports about the auto IWC Portuguese with the movement dying because of the seconds at 9. Many others have quartz versions and (of course) they're fine. If you want auto, don't do it.

Don't know about the other watches you mentioned.

    Welcome to RG!

And it seems that we have a resounding yes to the bkmariner. It is a ver nice watch (actually i'm purchasing 2 of them very soon) The watch is very close. there are a couple of things that need to be done, but overall, it puts you very close. There is a review that was done on it that explains the changes that need to be made.

    Cheers,

    inferno

Welcome to RepGeek rpm - nice to have you aboard.

regarding the movements of each watch, it will depend on the movement you decide to purchase. ex. asian or eta? In short, you'll be very happy with any of the watches you listed. Talk more w your dealer if you have some questions regarding the best movement for your needs.

    Again, welcome and enjoy!
