Very smart giving him his own section. His reviews and pics are always excellent. Now we don't have to go to different sections looking for his reviews. Thanks for making great reviews easier to find and for giving By-Tor the props and respect that he deserves.

Heith, I couldnt agree more. I hope he sees what you wrote.

I have long been an admirer of his fine work and reviews, and I hope he doesnt mind me saying, but he is very humble and did not want his section.

But, ater talking about how helpful it was to the members and how much insight it gave everyone - it had to be more readily available - its so insightful and informative, he agreed. He's a very stand up humble straight shooter, my kind of guy.

I again, publically, thank him from ALL the rep enthusiasts for his reviews and pictures. (there have been times I simply opened his review, read it and based on his reccomendations, purchased the watch)

Yes, we welcome By tor here wih open arms and welcom his great revies. Members will know here all the hard work comes from and where to go to great comparisons on watchs.

Pug, per his request members can post questions and comments on them.

Forum itself is being locked so no new/additional threads can be created with in his section.

I've also asked Pug to join us with his stellar pictures, tutorials and how to's also. On a personal note, I even requested his wit and banter as I find his astute and apt postings very thought provoking.

Per his request, he'll be adding threads in the members 'how to" forum.

Thanks all. It's quite neat to have all my reviews in the same section. I was only concerned how they would service the members, because Ziggy's similar section (which had watch movement breakups) in the RWG got very little attention, which was quite disheartening.

Big thanks to JCM for arranging it. I will post all new reviews to that section (whenever I purchase a new watch). Those are the community's property, they have been written for all the members.

I also thought it'd be important if the only threads in that section were my reviews. If me & others started new threads it'd soon look messy and make the writeups harder to find. This way it's nice, clean and easy to access. Feel free to ask questions and post comments to the threads though... I'll try to answer and help as much as I can.

Some of the writeups are rather old (and about outdated reps, like the old Navitimer), but I thought they could still serve their purpose. But some old writeups are, surprisingly, still very relevant... and perhaps good read for new members.

PS: Actually Pug is right. Posting replies to the threads doesn't work now. Not even for me.

I tried "open threads" from the moderator options but it didn't work.

Indeed. What people fail to understand is that we're just like them. Ziggy, By-Tor and myself are just like you and we really, really need feedback to keep us excited. Just because By-Tor writes the best reviews you've ever read doesn't mean he doesn't need "Wow, great post!" replies. Even the great TTK gets disheartened when he posts his pro-quality pictures and no-one replies "nice pic!"

We all need encouragement and support. No-one here is being paid to do what they do, so if you like a post, say so! Make the poster proud that he's got hundreds of people appreciating his work.

I do my bit and try to post encouragement in as many deserving threads as possible, but we should all do so. Supporting your community is being part of your community. The more you put in, the more you get out.

Thanks man. But it's not really "my style". Many people use that style to write watch reviews. There aren't so many different ways to do it, really.

You're the arch-reviewer. My style is to take loads of pics, intending to do loads of writing too, but at the last minute, bottling out and just posting pics with a light smattering of writing to tie them together, usually because your review came out first and the text is irrelevant.

Dunno how that can be done. I can't change this. Probably an admin option?

Just wanted to add my name to the list!

By-Tors reviews are truly remarkable and an invaluable resource to collectors and enthusiasts of any level. We are privileged to have him as a member and to be able to share his knowledge.

I must admit that I do blame By-Tor for making me buy watches that I hadn't previously thought about buying.

It has become routine that if he gives a watch a positive review, then I am going to buy it!

to all of you who spend so much of your time sharing your findings on this, our chosen hobby/addiction/passtime/occupation - By-Tor and Pugwash being at the top of this list.
I too, am guilty of having not being as 'vocal' in my appreciation as I perhaps should. We have all learned much from your meticulously put together reviews. They have become the mail source of reference, bible, if you like, for the watches on which you have reported your findings.
Your opinions are highly valued by (certainly most of) us, and very well appreciated.

Since I've been here I've been naturally impressed with By-Tor's great reviews as well as Pugwash's great insight as well. There are other great reviews on here. I've also been impressed with Seadweller4K's reviews as well. He made me want to go out and order an Explorer 1 and his review of the Breitling Steelfish Rep was great as well. Jiro's rep photography and his Photoshop tutorials have helped guys like me who are pretty weak with the camera. Outside of those who I have mentioned, what I like are the people who jump in to help answer a fellow member's question and the lack of flaming on this board.
